UAV QUIMBAYA

The remotely piloted QUIMBAYA, in a manufacturing project for  small UAVs, for surveillance and reconnaissance of infrastructure, and a number of military and other State missions.

The structure of the Quimbaya is made of compound materials specifically, aeronautical-quality carbon fibre, which enables it to have a good ratio between strength and the weight of the pod. The entire development fort production including engineering and the construction of tools, pre-molds and parts assembly and manufacture, have been developed in Colombia.

The development of this remotely piloted aircraft has been conducted by the Ministry of Defence and CIAC at the Madrid Airbase, and it is intended that the project should be 100% Colombian.

UAV ATLANTE

The high-performance tactical UAV system Atlante + system is in the upper segment of tactical systems applied for initial use in ISR missions, with capacity and provisions to develop post-ICO capacity, for ISR armed missions, and SIGNT /ELNT intelligence missions.

The system has a good range with relatively complex dual payloads (EO/IR plus Radas), and is able to operate in tactical conditions (short unprepared runways, extreme environmental conditions), with special attention to ease of tactical deployment and maintenance.

THE PROJECT IS A CODEVELOPMENT WITH AIRBUS DEFENCE & SPACE, AND IS DIVIDED INTO THREE PHASES.

1. Viability study, completed in 2017. The study analyzed the technical and operational requirements of the system, and produced a conceptual design.

2. Design and development, taking place between 2019 and 2021, during which the detailed design will be made for the system, manufacture/testing of the prototype, and optimization of design and manufacture capacity in Colombian industry.

3. Manufacture, between 2022 and 2013, during which the systems will be manufactured.

This is a remotely-piloted system, a product of innovation in design and development that combines and optimizes processes and experience in aircraft design and manufacturing techniques, the programming of hardware and software of the company, to meet the operational needs of civilian and military sectors.
